When you grow up your mother says, 'Wear rubbers or you'll catch cold.' When you become an adult you discover that you have the right not to wear rubbers and to see if you catch cold or not. It's something like that. (Diane Arbus)

My name is Sandro, I am a photographer and web designer in Florence.
At the beginning I was only capturing images, then I understood that I could convey something.
I love chasing beauty and all of its declensions.
About me
In the last 7 years I realized commissioned photographic works and websites, but above all personal projects. I took part in many photo exhibitions, my works are selected and published in various forms. I write criticism about photography and I help amateurs to take the correct approach, with method and awareness.
I work also as analyst/developer in an international company of web services & advertising.
With a group of friends i created the photographic portal
(www.photocompetition.it), today a reference for many photographers, with pages about exhibits and events, a space for portfolio and reportage, a place to exchange opinions, criticize and read pictures, with online contests and a lively community.
PhotoCompetition is a cultural association (I'm the president) and until today has developed many collaborations.
I write on BecauseTheLight, a blog to study photography, reports and thoughts on communication and reading of photographs."At the beginning I was only capturing images, then I understood that I could convey something." read more...Exhibitions and Publications

At the beginning I was only capturing images, then I understood that I could convey something.
The best pictures are those you discover with time and remain etched in mind. Others will wear out quickly, with the passing of a sight. I love messages that come slow and whispered. I focus on details, color and shades of light.
The photos are just the starting point of a path to communicate deep and unsettling feelings. Photos to grieve, to sink into melancholy, conquer the peace, the desire to try out new things and basically a reminder of happiness. Each image is a different story. Do not just look, you dive in there and imagine feeling the clouds that run fast transported by wind, the leaves that move, vibrating rays of the sun and the skies are always different, fast, menacing and sometimes slow and quiet that make you scramble stomach. It's a very intimate experience...
My desire is to seek the delicacy and melancholy hidden and protected from things, even the simplest. I love the pictures you could stand a whole day to fix and dream on. It would be nice to create images that capture the memories of people and their stories, but not the history of events, but the emotions remain; at this point unknown viewers to relive their past and think about their experiences with lightness and charm.
